Habitat’s Women Build volunteers come together from all walks of life to build stronger, safer communities. Women and children make up the majority of people populating Habitat neighborhoods, as they are the most likely to be affected by poor living conditions. Women Build events provide the opportunity for women to take a proactive step in serving their communities.

Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved, and one that improves the community you share.

what is the women build program?
Women Build is a Habitat for Humanity International program that encourages women to make a difference by building homes and communities. The program seeks to encourage women volunteers to further the home-building mission of Habitat for Humanity.

You can volunteer for women build as construction site volunteer or as a hospitality team.
can men participate in women build?
Absolutely! Women Build isn’t about
excluding anyone. It is about including women and opening new doors of opportunity.

You can make a donation online, or through the mail. Your business, faith group, or civic organization can also become a build partner.

who was Sandy Marano?
In 2016, Greater Matthews Habitat lost one of our own, Sandy Marano, to breast cancer. Each year, we choose to honor her memory and dedication to our mission by hosting a Memorial Women Build in her name. Sandy was truly dedicated to our mission to serve families in need of safe, affordable homes, and in her role as Family Services Coordinator she was the staff person most closely linked to those we help. She loved “her” families and the job she did to help them reach their goal
of home ownership. She was well known in the community and an inspiration to many.
